Stephanie Peteya

Dr. Peteya grew up in North Canton and attended Hoover High School.  She obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Akron before getting her veterinary degree in 2016 from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine.  She initially practiced small animal medicine in North Canton and Canal Fulton before becoming the vet for the Stark County Dog Warden and coming to Stark ER part time.  She joined our team full time in March of 2022.  Dr. Peteya is particularly interested in skin conditions/allergies, sighthound medicine, surgery, emergency medicine, and internal medicine conditions such as diabetes and inflammatory bowel disease.  

Dr. Peteya is a member of the Ohio State Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association, and is RECOVER certified in basic and advanced life support.  

In her free time, Dr. Peteya enjoys spending time with her rescue dogs, cats, rabbits, and aquatic critters.  She loves to travel, SCUBA dive, and binge-watch TV shows and movies.
